Every time I watch or attend a new tennis tournament, I discover something new about a player or one I did not know. That is what happened while I was working in Acapulco this year. It was the first time I heard about Renata Zarazúa. I have never thought that after reaching the semifinals of the Mexican Open, she would be the first Mexican woman to enter the main draw and to get to the second round of Roland Garros since 1961. I did not think she was going to win a set 6-0 against Svitolina (5th in the world), but that is the beauty -and sometimes frustration- of following the WTA.
